IAN DAVID COLEMAN, COMPOSER
Born in Bristol, England, Ian David Coleman has developed a growing reputation as a composer and arranger in American and Europe. His music has been performed in the States, Europe and New Zealand. Among others, he has written for The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines, the Simon Carrington Chamber Singers, The King’s Singers, renowned British organist David Goode, the New Plymouth Orchestra in New Zealand and the Lyric Arts Trio.
He has been commissioned by many local ensembles to write and arrange a wide variety of music ranging from choral to symphonic band to orchestra. He enjoys working with young musicians helping to create music that is challenging yet accessible. In fact, he enjoys commissions that lead to interaction between the composer and the ensemble and which can help to foster a co-creating partnership for all involved in the performance.
He was named a finalist in the 2015 American Prize for his Choral Symphony ‘Leitourgia’. His music is published by J.W. Pepper and Alliance music publishers.

KIM CARSON, TRUMAN HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR DIRECTOR
Originally from Kidder, Missouri, Kim Carson graduated from Missouri Western State University in 2008 with a B.S. in vocal music education and piano performance. Following graduation, she began her career at Lafayette High School in St. Joseph, Missouri, where she led the Irish singers to their first ever Missouri Music Educators Convention performance, one of the highest honors in the state. In 2012, Ms. Carson accepted her current position at Truman High School in Independence, Missouri. While there she has watched her groups excel at the district and state level. She was also recognized as an outstanding music educator statewide by her peers in 2012 and 2019. She received her M.M. in choral conducting from Michigan State University in 2015 and resides in Independence with her husband, Michael.

JASON BEAN, BLUE SPRINGS SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR DIRECTOR
Jason Bean is in his seventeenth year as Choral Director at Blue Springs South High School where he conducts the A Cappella, Chamber, Concert and Freshman Men’s Choirs. He also teaches AP music theory. He is in his twentieth first year of teaching, serving previously as choral director at the Blue Springs Freshman Center and assistant director at Blue Springs High School. He holds an undergraduate degree from William Jewell College and a graduate degree from the University of Central Missouri. Jason has been married to his college sweetheart Alison for 20 years. They have three amazing daughters Rebekah, Emily and Katherine.
